Wake Christian Academy is a private Christian school serving grades K-12. The campus is located in Raleigh, North Carolina, off U.S. Route 401.
The school was founded in 1966 by white parents who wanted to avoid sending their children to racially integrated public schools.
In 1970, North Carolina Supreme Court justice I. Beverly Lake gave a speech at the school in which he denounced school desegregation and noted that the all white private schools like Wake Christian Academy "offer our state her best best hope for safe passage through perilous times".
Today, the school has more than 850 students.
